Annuity & Renewal
A granted right is only as strong as its upkeep. We manage every maintenance and renewal deadline before MOIP so your Korean patents, trademarks, and designs stay in force — without a single lapse.
Korean patents and registered designs require annuities to remain enforceable, and trademark registrations must be renewed on a fixed cycle. A missed date can extinguish a right that took years and significant investment to secure.
We assume full custody of your Korean portfolio's deadlines: docketing every due date, alerting you well in advance, paying and filing on time with MOIP, and reporting back with confirmation. The default state is quiet — nothing lapses by oversight.
Automated tracking of maintenance and renewal deadlines, so a granted right never lapses by oversight.
Deadline docketing & alerts
Every annuity and renewal date is recorded in an automated docket with layered reminders, so no deadline depends on memory.
Annuity payment to MOIP
We calculate and remit patent and design maintenance fees to the Ministry of Intellectual Property on schedule, including within the grace period where needed.
Trademark renewal
We track each registration's ten-year term and prepare and file renewal applications ahead of expiry to preserve continuous protection.
Portfolio reporting
Clear periodic reports show status, upcoming dates, actions taken, and confirmations — a single view of your Korean rights.
Four steps, one point of contact.
Intake & docket
We receive your portfolio, verify official records against your data, and enter every maintenance and renewal deadline into our docketing system.
Alert before deadline
Ahead of each due date we notify you with the required action, amount payable, and our recommendation, leaving time for instructions.
Payment / renewal filing
On your confirmation we pay the annuity or file the renewal with MOIP within the applicable term.
Confirmation & reporting
We provide official confirmation of each payment or renewal and update your portfolio report accordingly.
Annuities rise over time
Korean patent and design maintenance fees are due periodically to keep a granted right in force and increase in the later years of the term.
Six-month grace period
A missed annuity deadline may be cured within a six-month grace period, but only with an additional surcharge on top of the fee.
Ten-year trademark renewal
A Korean trademark registration must be renewed every ten years to remain valid; renewal can be filed within the statutory window before and after expiry.
Lapse recovery is limited
Once a right lapses, reinstatement is available only in narrow, conditional circumstances — prevention through docketing is far more reliable.
Can you take over an existing Korean portfolio?
Yes. We reconcile the official MOIP records with your data, build the docket, and confirm every upcoming deadline before assuming responsibility.
How and when will I be reminded?
You receive advance alerts before each due date, with the action required and time to respond. Reminders are layered so a single missed message never risks a lapse.
How is payment and currency handled?
We remit official fees to MOIP on your behalf and bill you clearly; we do not quote fixed amounts here as fees depend on the right and the year due.
What happens if a deadline is missed?
Annuities can often be cured within the six-month grace period with a surcharge. Beyond that, recovery is limited and conditional, so we act well before any deadline.
